Almost twice the agricultural land of Western Europe has been bought up by States, corporations and private investors, between 2008 and 2010. When States sell land to other States or large multinational corporations, faunas, floras, villagers and smallholder agriculture producers are expelled. This can lead to the concentration of poverty in cities (migration!) and the consolidation of global monopolies.
